NAME OF CLUB: INTERACT CLUB
NAME OF ACTIVITY: VISIT TO AN OLD AGE HOME
DAY &DATE: SATURDAY, 22 OCTOBER 2016
CLASS/CLASSES : IX-XII
On Saturday, the 22nd October 2016, 31 students from classes IX to XII of Bal Bharati Public School, Brij Vihar, accompanied by two teachers Mrs. R.D.Arora and Mrs. Shilpa Banerjee visited ShashiRaj foundation-an Old Age Home accommodating 30 old people located in Shahdara.
The Interactors decorated the Old Age Home and had breakfast with the elderly people which they carrried. Students interacted with the inmates and celebrated Diwali with them.

Name of Activity : Festive Dressing – Ramp Walk

Participating Classes : VI , VII AND VIII
The theme of the activity was festive dressing. Four students from classes VI, VII and VIII were chosen from each house. The houses were allotted different states of India and each house had to showcase the festive dressing and how the festivals of the allotted states are celebrated.

1 | AEP CLUB |
The aim of the club is to educate students about the major changes in their self-esteem and how to deal with them effectively. A Group Discussion was conducted on understanding the Physical, Psychological and Emotional changes during Adolescence. Activities on Self-concept and Self-Esteem were conducted.

2 | TEEN CONSUMER CLUB |
To create awareness among consumers on the hazards of cracker bursting and enthusing them to take a decision for a safer world environment tomorrow, a “Signature Campaign” was conducted. To sensitise the students a discussion on the topic “Say No to Crackers” was conducted so that they can learn the consequences of their action and its long term impact on environment and economy. Posters were prepared and slogans were written by students on the topic.

3 | HEALTH AND WELLNESS CLUB |
The club aims to motivate and mobilize students to improve their hand washing habits by washing their hands at critical moments throughout each day. For this students were grouped into pairs. Students made games on hand wash and posters on Global Hand Wash Day.

4 | THEATRE CLUB |
The objective of Theatre Club is to develop aesthetic awareness & skills necessary for the expression of art through the form of mime. The students brought Mime acts and selection was done based on the quality of the films .The students were enlightened on different emotions and how they are depicted in a Mime .The students were also given some specific topic to enact like · Sudden shock after getting a good result. · The teacher asking for the project they forgot to bring · The students saw the film with interest and enacted well . |
5 | NATURE CLUB |
To help students understand the need to conserve nature and to recycle & reuse various things artistically, they were shown a News Clipping of NDTV on causes & effects of activities of man on Environment, specially on the occasion of Diwali. They were also shown the views of people on ‘DIWALI, A FESTIVAL OF LIGHT OR POLLUTION’. Then they made lanterns,decorated Diyas& Thalis with recycled material like pista shells,pebbles,waste paper etc.to celebrate Diwali in a nonpolluting manner.

6 | SCIENCE CLUB |
The primary objective of the club is to provide an extra-curricular and highly engaging environment to improve and enhance students’ understanding of Science. In this regard, students were shown a movie on the history of candle making. The students were guided about how to make candles through a power point presentation and hands on demonstration.

7 | CREATIVE AND LITERARY CLUB |
The club aims to enhance creative skills of students by giving them opportunity to learn about the famous authors and poets and appreciate their literary works. For the purpose of the activity, the students were asked to bring a picture of their favourite author / poet. They were also required to bring information about their life and important works and share it with the other club members. Some students also presented a short enactment from the Shakespearean play ‘Macbeth’.

8 | INTERACT CLUB |
To demonstrate helpfulness and respect for others, students prepared Thank you Cards for the support staff of the school .These cards will be given to the support staff of the school. Teachers and students also held a discussion on the work done by the support staff for smooth running of the school.

9 | QUIZ CLUB |
Quiz club aims to increase awareness, knowledge and lateral thinking among students. Vateez Quiz was conducted by the club. The Vateez master each time frame a VAT and conceals it in closed chits. The VAT may be a Place, Book, Things of everyday use etc.

10 | DISASTER MANAGEMENT CLUB |
The objective of the club to educating and train the Students as a part of community capacity building to respond to any disaster situation. In this regard following activities were conducted :- *Self Defence Training Basic fundamental skills were taught: i. Different kinds of Punch ii. Elbow Hitting iii. Knee Hitting iv. Gripping v. Kicking etc. *Mock Drill (evacuation) Plan discussed *Demonstration of brick/tile breaking and board breaking This was followed by an instant quiz and question answer session for ensuring proper understanding amongst the students.

As a part of Literary Activity, an interactive session was held for the students of XI –XII classes of Six BBPS Units on 15-10-2016. The topic of the book discussion was “The Palace of Illusion” by Chitra Banerjee Divakarun.. Three students of our school participated in this video conference session and discussed the different aspects of the book with their counterparts.
* The students found it helpful and learn to understand and communicate various forms of argument/agreement effectively in a variety of contexts.
