In accordance with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the Foundational Stage of schooling is structured into three levels of Balvatika, which cater to the developmental needs of young learners:
Balvatika I:
This is the entry level of formal schooling, designed for children in the age group of 3 to 4 years. The focus at this stage is on play-based learning that nurtures curiosity, social interaction, and the development of early language and motor skills.
Balvatika II:
Children transition to Balvatika II at ages 4 to 5, where interactive and activity-based learning experiences further enhance language development, cognitive skills, and foundational numeracy.
Balvatika III:
This level is meant for children in the age group of 5 to 6 years and serves as a bridge to Grade I. The emphasis is on consolidating school readiness by enhancing literacy, numeracy, problem-solving abilities, and confidence through structured yet joyful learning experiences.
